Uji Hojicha 50g
From the legendary and ancient tea fields of Uji comes this soothing roasted green tea, crafted from the veins and stems of the renowned Furukawa matcha family. When tencha — the leaf material milled to produce matcha — is made from umami-rich, 30-day-shaded, first-harvest leaves, only the softest parts are used. The remaining stems and veins are collected and given an expertly executed light roast, drawing out rich notes of cocoa, hazelnut, and warm wood smoke, balanced by a smooth, sweet undercurrent.
The deep umami of the award-winning leaves remains, yielding an extraordinary hojicha with character and warmth. Expect notes of rich soup broth, lightly peated scotch, caramel, and spice. Beloved as a daily tea across Japan, hojicha from Uji carries a distinct refinement — a clean finish, subtle mineral lift, and timeless comfort. This is one of the finest hojichas we have ever tasted.
