This world-class matcha is certainly among the best of the best. The organic tea fields are now in mature and full form resulting in an extraordinary harvest this year.
It is from sixth generation award-winning Uji tea farmers who are committed to organic & traditional practices. The Ujihikari tea plants are shaded for 30 days under rice straw & then laboriously hand picked before being dried and processed to create a tencha which is ripened & then stone-ground on the farm & shipped to us directly. The farm is right beside the legendary Uji river and within Uji City, the most prestigious region for tencha / matcha production in Japan.
