This world-class matcha is certainly among the best of the best. It is from sixth generation award-winning Uji tea farmers who are committed to organic & traditional practices. The Samidori tea plants are shaded for 30 days under rice straw & then laboriously hand picked before being dried to create a tencha which is ripened & then stone-ground on the farm & shipped to us directly. The farm is right beside the Uji river, the legendary place where matcha was first cultivated in Japan.
